Pronouns


In Turkish, it is used a personal pronoun, a noun/adjective and a personal suffix. For example: "Ben mühendisim", "Ben" is the personal pronoun, "doktor" is the noun and "-im" is the personal suffix. The personal pronoun and the personal suffix are associated with each other.

Positive

Each personal suffix has more than one spelling. Correct form of the suffix is chosen based on the last vowel of the noun or adjective to preserve the vowel harmony.

In negative sentences, "degil" (not) is attached to suffix

Positive Questions

To form a positive question sentence, "mi" is used together with personal suffixes. It is done by preserving vowel harmony.

Negative Questions

Negative questions consist of  "değil" and "mi" to make "değil mi". The personal suffixes get attached to "mi". Unlike the positive question, for the negative question "mi" has only one form.
